Sophie Diumenti is an American singer-songwriter whose musical style encompasses genres such as Pop, Americana, Alternative Country and Classic Rock sounds. She is currently working on her upcoming album with producer Josquin Des Pres who has produced music for artists like Jason Mraz, Alicia Keys, Jax, and many more. Sophie has developed songs that are close to her heart which share her personal life’s experiences, and are relatable and relevant to others who have walked through similar trials. The album holds room for ballads and upbeat songs together that embrace unique instrumentation and captivating choruses.
In earlier years, Sophie released an EP shortly after attending a two month music intensive in Herrnhut, Germany, and later attended a music school in South Carolina to further her knowledge and focus on composition and songwriting. She performed on the Mall in DC in front of 30,000 people in 2018 with other musicians and singers. She recently sang a patriotic medley at the NHRA Nationals in Brainerd, MN. Her music has played on radio stations in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Southern California. Her latest single release is a dreamy Hawaiian inspired song called “Aloha Leilani” which was co-written with Leonard Jones and her brother Peter Thiel for an independent film called “Rise of the Wahine;” a movie regarding to Title 9 and a true story about a women's volleyball team in Hawaii.
Sophie keeps a busy schedule performing at many wineries, restaurants, and venues in Southern California and has taken Ed Sheeran’s advice; “Do as many gigs as you can and be nice.” She knows that all of the hard work and live performances have helped her to grow in confidence and develop her sound, image, and stage presence. Her new songs share about overcoming seasons of grief and pains of the past, accepting her own decisions, searching for fulfillment, following your dreams, and embracing who she is now. She wrote a song called “Mama” which is relatable for any mother daughter relationship. One of her songs titled “What A Waste,” is about being with the wrong guy who didn’t cherish her. The remaining songs all have their own special story or message that the listener can identify with and that’s so important to her. She is releasing two singles in the fall of 2023; one original called “Fly” and an old cover song called “One Silver Dollar” from a western film with Marilyn Monroe. Keep on the lookout in 2023 for updates on her album release and performance dates on Instagram, Twitter, Linktree, ect. @sophiediu.music
